Tried looking for it but it doesn't seem to exist anymore. What do you make of it, Azu?

How absolutely strange. It would be nice if there even was a fan animated series though. The last thing similar was the /a/ draws a year ago. I was hoping we would at least get some new merch or figures for the anime's 20th anniversary but, even if that was the case I'm not even sure Azuma answers mail so they couldn't get permission. It is great that that the manga and anime has a had a surge in popularity naturally in recent years. Makes me happy.

I choose to believe the lady in the glasses and white sweater is Osaka’s mom.

da76d5d4 No.3562

I can see the resemblance, but I choose to believe Osaka's family is very cool and energetic and Osaka is just the weirdo of the family.

Could be, though. Would be similar to Kaorin's case.

aabe6a98 No.5037

Osaka's mom appears (I believe) in an episode where there is a sport festival. They are literally lookalikes. Don't remember the episode number.

I mean the anime did have a pretty serious case of same face syndrome as far as the background characters went.

I hadn't checked this board in a long time but I suddenly remembered it today. I am thrilled it is still active! Thanks to Ralen!! I have enjoyed Azu and Yotsubato for many years!! This has been my favorite board even when it has slowed. I will always think of it with joy when times are hard. Wishing the best to Ralen, wherever he is!

Sakaki was actually based on the Dr. Manhattan character. Tall, powerful, aloof, but secretly with the heart of a little girl.

Good eye. I picked that up when I was traveling for Christmas one year to give me something to read.

Then I guess Kaorin is based on The Silhouette, because they're both similar in tastes, if you know what I mean…

…I mean their hair, they have similar hair.

I, too, just remembered this board. I used to come a lot years ago. A Yotsuba thread on 4chan reminded me.

I can't wait to read all the chapters that have been released since then. I think the last I remember they all went rock hunting

Several of the previous chapters were consolidated for the paperback collection, so this chapter's number is back down to 105.

Maybe it’s one of those cultural attributions to something more abstract. We say “greenhorn” in English speaking countries, but Japan uses blue to mean the same thing.

What an awkward little boy. Cool trivia though.
I wonder if Yotsuba is gonna learn the names of clouds now that show knows they have names.

It's a Christmas miracle! Also it's really nostalgic to see Azuma drawing workplace ladies again. I'm sure Yotsuba chapters would come out a lot faster if he had made these characters first since that's what he knows but, it probably wouldn't be as wholesome and more cynical.

Good job with "pride", but that's more like a Kaorin thing. Speaking of, I think she's more lust than Tomo.

6a0f4d38 No.4821

I've heard on occasion that the sin of lust doesn't have to be necessarily sexual, just general hedonism, and Tomo is unbridled hedonism.

Hello,

For a long time, I thought about posting about how I was the mysterious "-M." moderator at the old Azumanga board (maybe I even did and forgot about it). Not that it's that interesting, I mostly wanted to say I had a good time.

Then Wakachan disappeared after ten or so years!

But now the board is apparently reincarnated. We'll see how it works. I'm NOT the moderator here - I haven't been for a long time, after server/communications problems made it too difficult.

I was there on 4chan in November 2003, when it was a nice place. And here I am, still posting, albeit very sporadically. I wonder if this 4chan offshoot branch will ever die?

Anyone remember my moderation? Did you ever wish I would be attacked by mad goats?

I like how we always talk about backup spots to go if the board goes down then we end scattering when it finally happens :3 (Discord, anyone?)
I was a janitor at the old board, not sure if that's the same as a mod. I was a pretty frequent poster but I mostly deleted CP. I think I banned 2 assholes since 2007.
You did a good job from what I've seen, -M.

It's actually funny now seeing news about 4chan having a "restructure" in the future to stay afloat. I haven't been a regular there since 2010. I probably grew out of it but looking at what it's doing now it seems like a breeding ground for idiots who combatively support the alt-right. A fry cry from the Anons I knew back when they protested Scientology.
